Cosplay Message

The cosplay orientation meeting for Cosplay Masquerade begins at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, i.e. 3 hours before the event starts. Any music and sounds needed for your show must be handed in at the reception on a CD with the group’s name on it before the orientation meeting.

Stage Fright

The newly added event, Stage Fright, is a cosplay event inspire by “Brian Mørk Show – Med Løg På” and is in Danish only. The concept is that the ‘host’ interviews a cosplayer who is in-character, but during the interviews tells an obviously made-up story about the character (in the shape of a guiding question) that the cosplayer has to pretend is true and then build on. We close down the participation sign-up around midnight today, but the sleeping spot sign-up will remain open for a few days.

Payments at the Door

After several days’ consideration, we’ve decided to accept payments at the door. The leftover tickets will be sold in a “first come, first serve” fashion and does not require pre-registration, so just because you’ve registered does not mean you ticket is guaranteed, unless you pay in advance. You unfortunately cannot reserve a sleeping spot if you buy a ticket at the door.

Sleeping Spots

Several people have ask about whether or not you can leave your sleeping gear in the sleeping hall, or if you have to drag it back and forth between the sleeping hall and the wardrobe. We’ve just had our final meeting with Prøvehallen today and are therefore happy to be able to announce that you can leave your sleeping gear in the sleeping hall; we lock the rooms outside opening hours.

We’d also like to remind people that we have 18 showers on the 2nd floor of the sleeping venue (9 for the ladies, 9 for the gentlemen) that you are welcome to use.

‘Buy or Destroy’ Auction

We’re having an auction again this year, this time with a twist. If you don’t care about getting your item back if it doesn’t get sold, we destroy it on stage! 8D

You check the things you’d like to auction off in at the reception during Saturday from 10:00-23:00; until then, they can be stored in the wardrobe. When you check in the items, we’ll make a list of what items you want to sell, what the starting price for each item is, and whether or not you give us permission to destroy the item if it doesn’t get sold.

SMS Voting

As something new, we’re making use of SMS voting to decide the Audience Choice for the Cosplay Masquerade. We think it’s a pretty cool idea, but do you guys and gals think the same?

Tea Party

J-fashion are having a tea party on Genki Sunday at 12:00 P.M. and onwards (only the starting time is written in the time schedule) where you can enjoy a little tea and cake as well as participate in party games with prizes!

No sign-up in advance needed, but please be on time. Also, there is a dresscode; you have to be dressed in Japanese fashion, preferably lolita, but other styles are also welcome. Cosplay is not allowed, we hope you understand :)

To all of you who have signed up for fan panels, you will be sent a mail on Tuesday or Wednesday of what days and times we can place your panel, and then you will have that to choose from.

Most LOL: Awarded for funnies act.
Best Prop: Awarded for best props.
Most Genki: Awarded for the act that best captures Genki’s spirit.
Alpha Omega: Awarded for best overall performance, costume, etc.
Audience Favourite: Decided by SMS voting by the audience.

• The deadline for sign-ups in advance, payments, etc. is on July 23, so only 8 days left!
• The deadline for sleeping spot reservations isn’t until July 25 however.
• 676 people have signed up for Genki 2010; of them, 413 have paid.
• 33 sleeping spots have been reserved; 367 are still available.
• 40 have signed up to be pashiri; we need an additional 20 who are willing to help out.
• 7 booths in the Artist Alley have been rented out; there is 1 booth left.
• 15 groups have signed up for the Cosplay Masquerade; there’s room for another 10.
• There are unfortunately no more media passes left. For the people who have applied, please print and fill out two copies; one for yourselves and one for us.
• We have received 11 AMV sign-ups, keep them coming ;3

The contents are, however, exactly the same as before. Here’s a short list of changes:

• Frontpage changed from the news page to the info page; recent posts added to the side bar.
• Forum button removed; there’s now a link in the side bar instead.
• Language button removed; there’s now a clickable flag instead.
• “Need Help?” button replaced by “Contact”; FAQ moved under “Information”.
• “Staff” button removed; list of organizers now under “Information”.
• Dealer page moved under “Activities”.

We hope you will like the changes. Feel free to write feedback as comments to this post.
